Unique hand made and designed highly ornate floor length steel frock coat. The body of the coat is made of a heavyweight metallic dark steel colored velvet. The embellishments for this coat are in an extremely intricate nouveau styling (twining serpents, long necked birds and fantastical abstracts) are done in a black hammered satin, with every cut out eye and tongue paned in golds, silvers and coppers to create an almost stained glass appearance and are applied to the sleeves, back and fronts. Lapels are are in similar style but are cut from the velvet and backed in black satin. The deep tapering cuffs and wide fold down collar are rich black velvet with the same effect but paned in copper satin and steel velvet. The back of the coat is finished in black hammered satin box pleats on either side of the slitted back, and large gold buttons finish the back above the sharp V seam. The front is closed by matching gold buttons and looks equally good worn open or closed. It is fully lined in black satin and I have reinforced the yoke (neck and shoulders) as this is the first place to wear out on coat linings. I've tried to take pictures in differing lights to show the natural color variations of the fabrics, indoors and outdoor sun, as the most of the velvets and satins have some color changes and shadings in the various light sources. If you have any questions or comments please ask, I always appreciate any input. Thanks very much for looking.
